An Interaction With Young Married Girls
FPC has expanded our efforts to include an interaction on gender-based issues. We believe that interaction is a vital step in better understanding the issues we deal with. To devise effective and comprehensive solutions we must first examine the many factors which contribute to these issues and document our findings. In 2022 we conducted a study on the effects of early and childhood marriage involving interviews with married girls married boys and older women.
Based on the results of all 2022 studies this year we expanded our efforts to include more education and meetings with young women who were married as children. We worked to educate these young married girls on topics such as sexual and reproductive health, their education, time management, their dreams and knowledge of their rights and existing laws. We also started working with the families and spouses of these girls. We have successfully engaged 179 married girls, 12 of whom have started their education and wrote their 10th class exam through the distance education system (State Open School Board).
